This merger and acquisition newsletter and the merger and acquisition consulting services offered by Stephen N. Elias and Associates are oriented toward the basic needs of those people actually involved with deals, whether on a regular or occasional basis. It attempts to offer assistance to both buyers and sellers. It treats with the "hows" and "whys" of deals, and hopefully provides readers with the benefit of one individual's wide experience, gained over more than 35 years as buyer, seller, consultant and sometime intermediary.
For the past thirty five years Mr. Elias has worked exclusively in mergers and acquisition, strategic partnering, divestiture, financing, and strategic planning consulting. He has been involved mainly with engineering, consulting and technical services; information technology; military and commercial electronics; and telecommunications. During that time Mr. Elias held positions as both chief financial and chief operating officer.
As head of the corporate merger and acquisition, and divestiture program for Computer Sciences Corporation prior to founding his present firm in 1984, Mr. Elias contributed significantly to making that company a profitable multi-billion dollar information technology company.
Mr. Elias is a Certified Public Accountant; completed work for his MBA at the City College of New York; and has an MA in history from California State University, Northridge. He was an Adjunct Professor of Finance and Accounting at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Business and Management. He has published works on mergers and acquisitions from both buyers' and sellers' points of view.
